Basilicata Coast to Coast - Plot
For his directorial debut Rocco Papaleo has chosen among others the actors Alessandro Gasman and Giovanna Mezzogiorno and for the first time on screen Max Gazze'.
The film tells of an adventurous journey on foot of a group of former musicians from Maratea in the company of a donkey (and of a journalist not entirely happy to be in that group), through Basilicata from the Tyrrhenian to the Ionian Lucanian coast to participate in a music festival in Scanzano.
Maratea represents the starting point of this strange journey which will end in an empty square in Policoro, the festival already over.
A miracle will quickly make the group of friends forget their disappointment at not being able to attend the festival.

Basilicata Coast to Coast - The Itinerary
In the film, the itinerary starts in Maratea, continues to Trecchina, then goes to Lauria and Moliterno, and finally to Tramutola. From there, it heads to Viggiano, then to Corleto Perticara, and finally through Policoro to Scanzano Ionico, the site of a famous revolt against nuclear waste and, in the film, the location of a music festival that the group of musicians wanted to attend.
If you want to revisit the musicians' exploits of the film we have dedicated a whole section to the Itinerary of Basilicata Coast to Coast and its variations and enhancements.
