Primrose "Primula Palinuri Petagna"
The emblem of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park is the celebrated Palinuro primrose (Primula palinuri), a rare endemic species found along the 50-km stretch of coast from Palinuro to Maratea. Distinguished by its clusters of yellow flowers, it is unique among primroses in growing close to the sea.
Recommended itineraries

Along the coast, notable places to visit are Punta Licosa and the coast between Palinuro and Camerota.
Inside, the Alburni Mountains are covered with extensive beech forests and pastures, featuring various karst phenomena such as the Castelcivita cave (a cavity of about 5 km) and those of Pertosa, just outside the park boundaries (a very interesting cave, traversed by underground waters).
The most important peak in the Park is Monte Cervati, rising to 1,898 meters and towering over the Park's flora: ancient olive groves, beech and holm oak woodlands, as well as a rare white fir woodland.
And don't forget a dip in antiquity: Paestum !
