Beach of Grotta della Scala
Grotta della Scala Beach in Acquafredda lies just below Villa Nitti, the residence of Francesco Saverio Nitti, former Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Italy.
This small stretch of sand and pebbles was formed in 1894 from material excavated during the construction of the railway line.
Easily reached by car, it is near Acquafredda railway station, which has a large free car park.
It is also convenient for visitors travelling by train: the beach is right opposite the station!
The beach is small, intimate, and not crowded, even on peak summer days; the only beach facility provides all services, including a bar service and the option to eat directly on the beach.
