The beach of Calaficarra (Ficus Beach) or d’a Scala is a charming beach in Marina di Maratea situated among splendid formations of white calcareous-dolomitic rock.
It is said that one used to access this beach through a staircase carved into the rock, from which it took its name, later swept away by the fury of the waves during a violent storm.
On the northern side of the beach, there is a small cave, in which it is pleasant to immerse oneself to observe the reflections of light that the water creates on its ceiling.
