The Gnola Beach at Castrocucco is the largest beach on the Maratea coast.
It is a long stretch of sand that tucks under the skirts of the Serra di Castrocucco, creating a small bay that serves as a harbor.
The beach is overshadowed by the Castrocucco Castle, one of the most interesting abandoned historic sites to visit.
The river Agri (also called Castrocucco), which flows along its southern slope, divides Basilicata from Calabria.
