THE CHRIST WHO EMBODIED FORM
Art, Spirituality and Revelation in the Christ the Redeemer of Maratea
A young Christ, timeless, far removed from all earthly appearances: divinely new as an embodied symbol of redeemed humanity.
This essay retraces the genesis and meaning of the Florentine sculptor’s most monumental work, placing it in dialogue with his earlier creations, particularly the figure of the Angel—a recurring and obsessive theme within his poetic universe.
Through a critical and narrative perspective, enriched by theological, iconographic and philosophical references—from Plotinus to Teilhard de Chardin, from Augustine to Balthasar—the author offers a deep and original interpretation of the work, questioning the very meaning of artistic creation.
Here, art does not represent the sacred: it embodies it.
A book for those who love art as revelation, beauty as truth, and form as a pathway to the eternal.
