The Porticeddu beach is a small cove between the rocks, below the village of Marina di Maratea, on the southern slope.
It is so named 'cause the fishermen of Maratea were wont penetrate the inlet to catch octopus and other reef fish, as well as collect limpets from the rocks and salt.
Near this beach, looking toward the south, there is the charming grotto called "d’a Judia".
