The Three Beaches: Abisso | Setteponti | AI Piedi del Cedro | MARINA DI MARATEA
The Three beaches: Abissu, Setteponti & Cala del Cedro
In the area of "Marina di Maratea" lie the three beaches of Riciulillu (or Ricci) also called Setteponti for the arches of the old railway bridge that stands behind, the Abissu (the 'Abyss) and' mpedi 'u Citru (right in front of the cedar tree) also called Algae;
they are three small coves placed between the tip of the "Red Snapper" and the promontory called "Timpa Tenaglia".
The first is a tiny sand hint, accessible by land through a newly installed staircase on the rock, full of rocks and rocky ravines.
The second is for the most part an inlet in the middle of some rocks; while the third, slightly spaced from the other, it is the largest, and in winter it is used to host large algae or leaves of Poseidon on the shore.
